Free Printable Fire Hose Reel Sign PDF

Where to use this sign

A fire hose reel is a fixed firefighting point: a drum of hose connected to the water supply that trained people can use on a fire in its early stage. The sign tells everyone where the reel is, so it has to be visible on the approach and not only when you are standing next to the cabinet. You will usually find reels in corridors, stairwells, car parks, warehouses, factories and larger commercial buildings across the UAE.

Fix the sign on the wall at about eye level, roughly 1.5 to 1.7 metres, directly above or beside the cabinet. Where the reel sits in a recess or around a corner, add a second sign higher up or on the opposite wall so it can be seen from both directions. Never hang anything over the sign or park equipment in front of the cabinet.

A4 suits corridors and stairwells, while A3 works better in warehouses and open plant areas. Paper prints are fine for a trial layout or a temporary site. For permanent use order aluminium, acrylic or photoluminescent signs. Reel inspection, hose testing and maintenance are separate duties for your facility team and fire contractor, and exact requirements depend on your building.

Check the exact signage requirements for your building type with the relevant UAE authority or your fire and safety consultant.
